The partnership between Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional in securing victory in the Negri Sembilan state election proves that putting brotherhood above ego creates unmatched strength, says Kelantan Chief Minister Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud.

He said this was the true meaning of the unity of the ummah (Muslim community), which goes beyond uniting in victory to continuing hand-in-hand while carrying out responsibilities.

He added that the union was not merely a victory for a political coalition, but the fulfilment of a long-held ambition fought for through prayers, tears and patience.

“Today, we are not celebrating who is greater or who contributed more. Today, we celebrate the return of a brotherhood that puts religion, race and nation above all differences.

“Let us welcome this victory with humility and awareness. The greater the victory granted by Allah SWT, the greater the trust that must be borne. The people have placed their confidence in us through the ballot box.

“It is now our responsibility to translate that hope into an administration that is integrity-driven, fair, caring and truly defends the people’s interests.

“Let history record that this victory was not due to the strength of a single party, but because hearts united to prioritise the ummah. A unity born for the sake of Allah will, insha-Allah, continue to be protected by Allah,” he said.

In the Negri Sembilan state election, BN won 18 seats, followed by Pakatan Harapan with 11 seats, while PN secured seven seats.NST
