The recent statements made by the president of the Palestinian Authority (PA) Mahmoud Abbas against Hamas and the threats he made against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip of taking more punitive measures against them are destructive to any endeavor attempting to achieve the national reconciliation.
These statements as well reflected the ill intentions against the people of Gaza and lack of interest towards the internal reconciliation.
This also proves Abbas’s role in maintaining the unjust relentless siege imposed on Gaza and operating to weaken its people’s resistance.
Hamas will never be dragged to such altercations and will remain committed to its mission of defending the Palestinian rights and accomplishing the national reconciliation.
