IPOH – Gunung Semanggol assemblyman Mohd Zawawi Abu Hassan(pic) is in stable condition and is still being monitored by doctors at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here.
When contacted, Sungai Rapat assemblyman Radzi Zainon said the 41-year-old state PAS secretary has been given sedatives, allowing him to sleep and rest while the doctors continue to monitor his condition.
“At this moment, Mohd Zawawi should not be disturbed and be allowed to rest.
“We don’t encourage people to visit him at this moment until the family gives permission,” he added.
Mohd Zawawi fell unconscious at his home in Kampung Tebuk Panchur, Bagan Serai on Tuesday at about 11.30am.
His wife, Maizul Rosmawati Meor Ibrahim, 40, who found him on the floor in the bathroom, rushed him to the Taiping Hospital.
He was later transferred to the hospital in Ipoh.
Mohd Zawawi was said to have been suffering from hypertension and high blood pressure.
It is learnt that Mohd Zawawi had been actively attending programmes and meetings till late at night over the past few days.
The father of three was also sending his children to school and had complained of dizziness, headache and lethargy
