The resumption of peace talks with Israel by the Palestinian administration was protested on Tuesday in Gaza.

gazaHeld by the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), the demonstration was attended by the representatives of Hamas, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine (or Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) as known in the West) and the Al-Nasser Salah al-Deen Brigades.

“We reject the resumption of peace talks with Israel under the conditions set by the United States. The final aim of the peace negotiations must be putting an end to the Jewish settlement, releasing the detained Palestinians and enabling agreement on the 1967 borders,” Talal Abu Zarifah, a DFLP leader, told Anadolu Agency.

Arguing that the negotiations, as it is now, are soundless and nothing more than a waste of time, Zarifah said the real aim of the negotiations is just to cover up the Israeli policy of Jewish settlement and acquit Israel in the eye of the international community as a country in favour of peace.

“If the negotiations proceed and make progress, the Palestinian resistance will weaken and the efforts of appealing the Israeli crimes against Palestinian people to international courts will come to a halt,” added Zarifah.
