KUALA TERENGGANU – A florist escaped from a fire which gutted her shop in Jalan Sultan Sulaiman here this afternoon.
In the 6.55pm incident, Tan Bee Beng, 37, who was alone in the shop, said she was in its store when suddenly the lights went off.
“I came out and saw fire spreading fast in the shop. I managed to escape in the nick of time,” she told reporters when met at the scene.
Meanwhile, Jalan Kota Fire Station head Azmi Salleh said firemen took just 15 minutes to douse the flames.
He said their quick action saved 10 other shops in the row from catching fire.
The cause and losses are still being investigated. – Bernama
