MIRI – Bungai Beach at Sibuti District is approximately about 48 km from Miri city. Most of the population consists of Kedayan ethnic and consists of three villages namely Kampung Peliau, Bungai Village and Kampung Jambu.
Although the beach is beautiful and is ideal for attracting tourists, but there are some problems faced by the residents that need to be addressed by the authorities and those concerned.
Among the problems faced by some nearby residents of Bungai beach is an electrical problem and also water supply.


He has several times complained of this problem to SESCO and also to the representatives of the people in the area, but until now no electricity gets through his house.
PAS Miri Chief, Haji Jofri Jaraiee response to the issue says, the electric pole is just a few meters away from his house but does not functioning due to no meter as well as several houses near his house also facing the same problem.
“Every home should have water meters be installed to facilitate water supply without having to share the water meter and connect water from the main pipe nearby.
“For the safety of residents and visitors on the Bungai beach the relevant parties should put warning signage at the river,”he said
PAS appealed to the relevant authorities immediately come to their place and solve their problems as soon as possible.
“We urge the parties concerned immediately alleviate the plight of resident at Tanjung Bungai so that they can enjoying basic amenities that already existing but not functioning properly.
“Cooperation with the authorities to resolve the issue immediately is greatly appreciated,”he added
