KEMAMAN – The body of a teenager who went missing after a swimming outing at Geliga Besar beach here on Tuesday has been discovered about 6.40am Wednesday.
The body of Amir Syafiq Azhari, 14, a Form Two pupil from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Geliga here, was discovered some 300m from the place where he was last seen swimming on Tuesday.
Amir was out swimming with two other friends, including Mohd Aris Azarudin, whose body was found at about 5.55pm Tuesday.
State Fire and Rescue Department’s management and operations chief Mohamed Zulkhairul Mohamed Razilah said Amir’s body was found in about the same location as Mohd Aris’.
Mohamed Zulkhairul said the other teenager who survived the tragedy had gone into hiding.
The case has been handed over to the police for further action thestaronline
