Malay voters have been urged to not be duped by Pakatan Harapan’s decision to use the PKR logo as a common logo in GE14, says the Kelantan Deputy Mentri Besar.
Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said DAP has openly admitted that the party was using PKR’s logo just to fish the Malay votes.
“We hope that the Malay voters will not fall for DAP’s strategy. For us, there is no problem, but we do not know if it will cause any confusion among Malay voters,” he told reporters during a programme in Kota Darul Naim on Thursday (April 12).
DAP had agreed to use the PKR logo as the common Opposition logo for the general election as it will be more acceptable to the Malay voters who are still resisting the rocket symbol.
Mohd Amar said that the strategy could have its advantage as the rest of the Pakatan coalition parties will come under PKR’s banner.
“Those who are angry at them, including Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, had to support the PKR symbol, that is the advantage. But we view it as a tool to garner Malay votes,” he said.
Pakatan comprises DAP, PKR, Amanah and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia -thestar
