KOTA BARU: Pas will wait for the outcome of the Johor election before deciding which seats to contest in the Negri Sembilan polls, its deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said.

Tuan Ibrahim said discussions on seat allocations for the Negri Sembilan election had been put on hold for now.

“We are putting it on hold for now. We will wait for the outcome in Johor before deciding,” he said.

The Kubang Kerian member of parliament said Pas Kelantan had been tasked with assisting the party’s election machinery in Negri Sembilan during the campaign.

Commenting on DAP’s claim that Perikatan Nasional (PN) was afraid to face Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the Johor election, Tuan Ibrahim, who is also PN deputy chairman, dismissed the allegation.

“In politics, everything is about strategy. Our strategy includes asking Pas supporters in Johor to back Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates in selected seats.

“They are worried about our strategy. They are afraid of losing the contest,” he said.

Tuan Ibrahim said the response on the ground had been encouraging following the directive.

“The response on the ground has been very positive, especially among the local community.

“The reality is that Malay voters have responded positively,” he said.
