PAS Youth denies any involvement in an alleged gathering to protest against the government.
Its information chief, Khairul Nadzir Helmi Azhar (pic), was referring to a poster circulating on social media and messaging platforms.
“PAS Youth did not organise any gathering on the date as mentioned in the poster.
“We will not be responsible for any repercussions on the gathering that we do not organise,” he said in a statement on Thursday (April 9).
The poster, which carried “Himpunan Turun Anwar,” called on PAS members to join the protest allegedly to be held at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur, this weekend.
Khairul Nadzir said any gatherings that are organised by PAS Youth will certainly be carefully planned, including all procedures that involve the authorities.
“This is not the ‘standard’ of how PAS Youth organises a gathering. So once again, PAS Youth denies organising any gathering as it is being circulated.
On the contrary, Khairul Nadzir said the PAS central committee is holding a programme this weekend in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
“In fact, PAS central committee is organising a Hari Raya open house at D Village Melaka, and I take the opportunity to invite everyone to attend, socialise and enjoy the food prepared,” he added. – TSOL
